Downloading & Installing BackJack

Downloading & Installing BackJack

To download the BackJack installer application:

1. Visit our registration page at <http://www.backjack.com/trial.html> and follow the simple steps outlined for you. The only information you will need to enter is a password and a valid email address.

2. Once you have submitted this information, select the server you would like to download the application from. The download process will begin.

To install BackJack:

The Installer was created using Stuffit InstallerMaker. Copyright ® 1990-96 Aladdin Systems, Inc.

1. Once the BackJack download is complete, launch the Installer by double-clicking the BackJack Installer icon. You will see our Installer screen as well as the License Agreement information which we encourage you to review carefully. Once you have accepted these terms, you can install the complete BackJack application. It will prompt you for where you want to install the BackJack folder.

The BackJack Installer icon can be deleted at this point. If you need to re-install BackJack at any time, you can do so by going to our free trial link at <www.backjack.com/trial.html>

2.Go ahead and launch BackJack by double clicking on the BackJack icon which can be found in the BackJack folder.

3. The first screen to appear will be the beginning of the Easy Setup process. Easy Setup is simply a brief, one-time setup of important information.

Remember, you will need the BackJack Account Number that we emailed to you as well as the password that you entered during the online registration process.

You cannot use BackJack until the Easy Setup process is complete.

The BackJack folder should remain as it is installed. Please do not take the BackJack application out of the folder. You may prefer to store a BackJack icon somewhere other than in the BackJack folder - for example, on your desktop. If so, make an alias for the icon by returning to the Finder, selecting the BackJack icon and then choosing Make Alias from the File menu. Then, you can move the alias rather than the original icon to the new location.

There are two files installed by the application that are not inside your BackJack folder. They are BackJack Preferences (found in your Preferences folder) and BackJack AutoLauncher (which is an alias in your Startup Items folder). AutoLauncher basically tracks when BackJack needs to be running and will automatically launch it at that time.

Removing The BackJack Application:

If you no longer require the BackJack application (ie. you have unsubscribed from our service), here is the procedure you would follow. Simply remove the BackJack preferences (found in your Preferences folder), the alias in your Startup Items folder, and the BackJack Folder itself. The BackJack AutoLauncher runs in the background so that won't be gone until you restart your computer.
